Three nights across November, three cities, and one question: what does a night out with this band actually feel like?
In Utero launched a new performance series, In Utero Present Vol.2: Bottoms Up, inviting L8ching, Giyu Tjuljaviya, and Erin Song to sing their way from Tainan to Taichung to Taipei over three weekend nights — November 8 at the old-house bar Chuanfa in Tainan, November 15 at The Pillars in Taichung, and November 21 at Witch House in Taipei.
All three live in the greater Taipei area, and the natural overlap of touring musicians made them regular drinking buddies around Beitou and Shipai. One night on a Shipai street corner, somewhere between drinks, someone said "why not just tour together?" — and Bottoms Up was born. Each artist also worked with their venue to design a stop-specific cocktail, so the audience could taste each city as well as hear it — one night only, never repeated.
Expect surprise arrangements, songs we've never played live, and a lineup built just for this tour. Come find us for a drink.
Following last year's Hotpot Band Show and its idea of turning everyday scenes into a stage, In Utero wanted music to keep happening in the corners of daily life, not just on a formal stage.
