Golden Indie Music Awards

Established in 2010, the Golden Indie Music Awards (GIMA) is one of Taiwan's major awards for independent music, spanning genres from rock and folk to electronic, hip-hop, jazz, R&B and alternative pop. In Utero's relationship with organizer Being Music spans several editions: PR and marketing support beginning in 2018, community management, nominee hospitality since 2022, and in recent years, curatorial work on the Asia Music Awards.

This is a collaboration with no outward-facing press release — In Utero's role at GIMA runs behind the scenes: making sure every nominee arrives on time and is exactly where they need to be, so the spotlight at the ceremony itself stays on the artists and their work. This set of photos documents the work that happens where the spotlight doesn't reach, the work that keeps the ceremony running.

From PR and marketing to nominee hospitality and, more recently, curating the Asia Music Awards, In Utero's work with GIMA continues — one ceremony at a time, helping Taiwan's independent music scene reach a bigger stage.
