Wendy Wander's lead single "Secret, the hidden me" goes digital ahead of third album

Popular band Wendy Wander returns after three years with their third album, "The House Of," dropping September 24. Today (9/4) they release lead single "Secret, the hidden me" to warm things up, produced by Golden Melody Best Album Producer Quincy Lee into a signature "Wendy dance sound." Even before the album was officially announced, Wendy Wander's momentum was already running hot — their lead-up mini LIVE in Taipei sold out instantly, and their Hong Kong show, their first in two years, sold out so fast it triggered an emergency added date.

Quincy Lee crafts a stylish dance track, reveals the band is "way more Taike than expected" off stage

Wendy Wander's long-awaited third album, "The House Of," drops officially 9/24, with lead single "Secret, the hidden me" offering an early listen today. Written and sung solo by frontwoman and guitarist Zengni, the track channels her distinctively mysterious tone to capture an unspoken, secret longing to be noticed, buried in city life. Continuing the band's exploration of disco, funk, and electronic dance elements, the track brought in renowned Golden Melody producer Quincy Lee to craft a signature "Wendy dance sound." On their first collaboration, Lee joked: "I assumed Wendy Wander were the type to hang out at tasteful coffee shops listening to vinyl — turns out they're way more unpretentiously Taiwanese than I expected."

Zengni's attention to detail sparks Lee's competitive streak; she takes on her first dance-centered music video

Both sides brought extremely high standards to the music. Lee praised vocalist Zengni's obsessive attention to mixing and vocal editing, which pushed him to keep revising mixes and pushing past his own limits, ultimately landing on a result both sides loved. Lee said he deeply felt "Wendy Wander 2.0" through this collaboration: "The new album's overall direction feels like young people growing up — more stylish, more current — and 'Secret' feels a bit like a gin and tonic: mysterious, with a little buzz."

The "Secret" music video reunites the band with director Lin Hong-jui, fresh off a Golden Melody Best Music Video win, with Zengni taking on her first-ever lead dance role, set against Taipei's night skyline — precisely capturing the emotional ebb and flow of being alone amid the city's noise through movement.

Overseas momentum is just as hot: fresh off a standout set at Indonesia's LaLaLa Festival, the band heads straight into Japan's Ringo Music Festival, a Japan solo tour, and Korea's Busan Rock Festival across a run of Asia tour dates. Their Hong Kong show, returning after two years, was originally set for Christmas Day (December 25) at Hong Kong's Macpherson Stadium and sold out instantly — prompting a surprise added date on December 26.
